What a Scalp Analysis Shows: Your Scalp Under the Microscope
Quick answer
A scalp analysis uses a magnifying camera to show the condition of your scalp on a screen: buildup around follicles, dryness or flaking, oiliness, and redness. At Aqua Therapy it's done before your head spa to choose the right products, and again afterward so you can see the change.
What the analyzer shows
Under magnification, your scalp tells a clear story:
- Buildup: white or yellowish residue around the hair follicles from oil, product, and dead skin.
- Dryness: flaking or a tight, matte surface.
- Oiliness: shine and clumping near the roots.
- Sensitivity: redness that tells me to choose gentler products and lighter pressure.
How it shapes your treatment
Nothing about your head spa is guessed. The analysis decides which exfoliant and mask I use, how long the detox step runs, and where to focus the massage. It's also why every booking includes a free scalp analysis.
Seeing the before and after
At the end of your treatment, we look again. Guests are often surprised by how much buildup lifts in a single session. Seeing it makes it much easier to know how your scalp is doing and how often to come back.

When to see a dermatologist instead
If the analysis shows something that looks like a medical condition, such as significant inflammation, scaling that doesn't respond to care, or patchy hair loss, I'll suggest seeing a dermatologist. The analyzer is a skincare tool, not a diagnosis.
Frequently asked questions
Is a scalp analysis included?
Yes. Every head spa booking at Aqua Therapy includes a free scalp analysis.
Does the analysis hurt?
Not at all. A small camera rests gently on your scalp and shows the image on a screen.
